Terms of Use and Disclaimer
Effective 13 October 2026
These terms apply to SpaceWise, a free app for macOS made by Dashapramati Solutions (“we”, “us”). SpaceWise shows them when you first open it, and you accept them by ticking the agreement box and choosing Agree and Continue. By using SpaceWise you agree to them. If you got SpaceWise from the Mac App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
In short
- SpaceWise never removes anything on its own. It only moves items to the Trash after you choose them, review them and confirm.
- You decide what to remove, and you are responsible for those decisions, including when SpaceWise suggests or labels an item as likely safe.
- Suggestions are guidance, not guarantees. SpaceWise can’t know what matters to you.
- Keep backups. Once you empty the Trash, removed items can’t be restored by SpaceWise.
1. Your decisions and responsibility
SpaceWise shows what uses your storage and offers explanations and suggestions to help you decide what to remove. Every removal is your own action: you choose the items, review them, and confirm by ticking “I’ve reviewed these items and choose to remove them” before anything is moved. You are solely responsible for deciding what to remove and for checking that you don’t need it, have another copy, or have a current backup. This applies whether you found an item yourself or SpaceWise suggested it, labelled it, or described it.
2. Suggestions, labels and explanations
Advisor levels (“Likely safe to review”, “Review carefully”, “Keep unless you’re sure”), duplicate results, “Explain my storage” notes and “What is this?” explanations are general guidance based on file names, locations, sizes, dates and information macOS keeps about files. They can be incomplete or wrong for your particular files. Explanations written by Apple Intelligence are generated automatically and may contain mistakes. Sizes and the space you can recover are estimates. None of these are a promise that removing an item is safe or that a specific amount of space will be freed.
3. How removal works
SpaceWise moves items to the macOS Trash; it does not permanently delete files. Items stay in the Trash, and keep using disk space, until you empty it, and you can restore them from the Trash until then. Emptying the Trash is done by you in Finder, outside SpaceWise, and is permanent. SpaceWise blocks some protected locations as a safeguard, but that protection is not complete, and you should not rely on it to prevent every mistake.
4. Backups
Before removing anything you might need, make sure you have a current backup, for example with Time Machine. We strongly recommend regular backups whether or not you use SpaceWise.
5. No warranty
SpaceWise is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that SpaceWise will be error-free, that its results or suggestions will be accurate or complete, or that it will meet your needs.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dashapramati Solutions is not liable for any loss of data, files, information, use, time, profits or business, or for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, arising from your use of or inability to use SpaceWise, including from items you chose to move to the Trash or later deleted. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for SpaceWise, which is nothing. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you; nothing here limits rights you have that can’t be waived by law.
7. Privacy
SpaceWise has no network access and collects no data. See the privacy policy.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. The current version, with its effective date, is always on this page and in SpaceWise under Help › Terms of Use. If we change them, SpaceWise asks you to accept the new version before you continue.
